Job Flows
This is a network dataset that I created in my spare time. In this network, nodes are occupations and the edges represent people switching between the occupations. The source of data is the Current Population Survey, that can be retrieved at this URL,
The network comes in two flavors: the full network file with all the occupation jumps and a refined network with the edges filtered by importance. Both files have the same format: three tab-separated columns containing the old occupation, the new occupation and the number of people jumping from one to the other. The second file has been generated by extracting the maximum spanning tree from the first file and then applying a network backboning extraction (both algorithms applied can be found in my network toolbox page). To generate the file I used only the occupation jumps from the year 2009 to the year 2010.
